Paragraph for JSC, SSC, HSC and Degree or Honours

A winter morning

A winter morning is misty and cold. There is fog everywhere. Sometimes sun is not seen because fog is very dense. Everything looked hazy. Nothing is seen clearly and people especially poor people suffer a lot. The road accident is high in winter morning because the road is not clearly seen for dense fog. The villagers gather straw and make fires to warm themselves. And people bask in the sun. In winter morning people like to eat various kinds of pitha. Children get up late. And morning school is very difficult for them. But the farmer and other poor people get up early in the morning and go to there work. They worked all day long. In winter they suffer a lot because they do not have good dress to save themselves from biting cold. They do not enjoy that morning. So it is very difficult for them. In cities, people get up late and they remain busy in taking breakfast quickly. For this reason they are not enjoy the scenery of a winter morning. When the fog gradually disappears everyone go to their work. A winter morning is very enjoyable to me.

Traffic jam

Traffic jam is a common affair in the big cities and towns. This problem is the result of rapid growth of population and the increasing number of vehicles. Most often this problem occurs in the congested areas where the roads are very narrow. In proportion to our population roads have not increased. There are many unlicensed vehicles which should be brought under control. The drivers are not willing to obey the traffic rules. Overtaking tendency also causes traffic jam. The number of traffic police is insufficient. Most often traffic jam occurs at office time and also at the time when offices break. It kills our valuable time and our work is hampered. It causes great sufferings to the ambulance carrying dying patients and the fire brigade vehicles. However, this problem can be solved by adopting some measures. Well planned spacious roads should be constructed. One way movement of vehicles should be introduced. Traffic rules should be imposed strictly so that the drivers are bound to obey them. Sufficient traffic police should be posted on important points. Unlicensed vehicles should be removed. After doing all these things we can hope to have a good traffic system for our easy and comfortable movement.

A street hawker

A street hawker deals in various things by hawking from street to street. He carries his products on head or in hand and sometimes in a small handcart. He generally buys his goods in a cheaper rate and sills them at a good profit. A street hawker is very cunning. He knows his business very well. His customers are women and children. He brings toys, sweets and other things for children. He also brings ribbons, cloth, fruits, fancy goods and domestic uses for women and sells them at a good profit. He speaks in different ways to draw the attention of his customers. A hawker also knows the time of his business. He comes when housemasters are out of home and when women are free from their household works and duties.A hawker sells different things like eatables, vegetables, fruits, clothes, etc. Some sell household articles, namely utensils, brooms, brushes, dust pans, door mats, etc. A hawker also sells cosmetics and artificial jewelleries.. They enjoy good sell of their goods for it is the time when these things are urgently required. The hawkers who sell cosmetics, artificial jewelleries and clothes generally come during the mid-day. The ladies are generally free from their household chores by the time. They have, therefore, good sale.

A BOOK FAIR

A book fair is a place where books of various kinds are brought for sale and display. It is a very popular fair. In fact, a book fair is considered to be an occasion of great festivity to the book-lovers. It is usually held in the winter season on an open place in most of the major cities of the country. The main thing about a book fair is not sale but display of books on different subjects. It is organized by various institutions on various occasions, namely, Martyrs Day, Victory Day, Independence Day etc. The leading publishers of the country set up stalls of their recent publications as well as old ones. Various kinds of novels, poetical works and science fictions are mainly available in a book fair. A festive look prevails all around. The renowned artists, poets’ intellectuals gather there and take part in the seminars and cultural programmes. Last year, I paid a visit to the Ekushey Boimela, the most popular book fair held in the premises of bangle academy. My personal impression about a book fair is that it can play an important role in developing the habit of reading books among the people. It is a device to spread culture, education and knowledge. It changes our outlook on life and widens our domain of learning.

Load shedding

Load shedding is an everyday occurrence in our daily life. It has become a common part of electric outage and system loss. It means the fluctuation and short supply of electricity for the time being. The load shedding occurs when the production of power is comparatively less than the growing demand. The power authority stops disconnect the supply of a certain area to give the flow of electricity to other areas. The whole area plunges into darkness when the power line is cut off. There is hardly any area which is not affected because of load shedding. The system has been going on for long, but the solution to this problem is not in sight yet. It causes manifold problems to the rural as well as the urban people. Students face crucially at the time of their examinations. The works of mills and factories are snapped due to the whims of load shedding. It is a hurdle to the country’s overall socio-economic development. The power sector must be given top-most priority for its utility. The government should set up more power plants to cope with the current demand of electricity.

Tree plantation

Tree plantation is a major issue at this moment over the world. Trees are one of the main elements working to save our environment. Reckless cutting down of trees and deforestation are harming our climate and ecosystem tremendously. The world’s temperatures are getting warmer gradually. It is a global concern. Plantation of trees is thus a crying need of the time. Other than the aforesaid issue, trees come to our help in many ways. Trees take in carbon dioxide and produce oxygen. Fruit-bearing trees provide us with many types of fruits for our good health. Herbal trees are useful for treating diseases. They give us shade and reduce our tiredness. Sufficient trees cause rainfall and prevent draught. Trees along the roadside and coastal areas prevent erosion and tidal bore. They give us firewoods as fuel for cooking. They are used as timber for making eye-catering furniture. They are even used for railway slippers and they produce rubber too. Trees help us to fight natural disasters like flood, cyclone, earthquake, etc. But many inconsiderate people cut down trees randomly. Massive awareness is essential among people for tree plantation

My Visit to a Historical Place.

A historical place means a place which bears the testimony of history. It surely has some important past event worth notable in history. A visit to a historical place is not only interesting and exiting but also educative. It is my spontaneous habit to visit the historical places of our country whenever I get time and chance because it gives me much pleasure. Last winter, I visited Bagerhat, a historical place. The place is famous for the Shat Gombuj Mosque and the Mazar of Khan Jahan Ali. I along with my two friends started our journey on the fixed day, and reached the destination by eight hours' journey. When we reached there it was night. So, we spent the night at a residential hotel in Bagerhat. Next morning we went out to visit the Shat Gombuj Mosque and the Majar of Khan Jahan Ali. It is three miles away from Bagerhat and we reached there by rickshaw. We were surprised to see the architectural structures of the mosque. It stands on sixty pillars and has seventy seven exquisitely curved domes. The area of mosque is very large and charming. There is a long tank near the mosque named ‘Ghoradighi’. The mosque has been declared as a world heritage site. In fact, this mosque is one of the greatest tourist attractions of Bangladesh. We came to know that this mosque was used not only as a prayer hall but also as a court of justice. We also felt ecstasy to see the unique design of the Mazar of Khan Jahan Ali. It stands on a raised ground. The tomb is made of cutting stone. There is a big tank in front of the mazar. There are some crocodiles in this big tank. When the caretaker called them, they came near. It was very interesting. Then we visited many social works of Khan Jahan Ali such as roads, public buildings, etc. It was a great pleasure for me to be at Bagerhat. It was indeed a rewarding visit. The sweet memory of this visit will remain ever fresh in my mind.

A moonlit night

a moonlit night presents a very beautiful sight. It has its own charms and attractions. The moon looks like a large disk of silver in a full moon night. It bathes the whole earth with her silvery light. Rivers, canals and ponds seem to laugh with silvery beam and create an enchanting view all around. Fields and meadows look very splendid. Poets feel a great thrill of joy in their hearts. Children come out of their houses and enjoy themselves by playing and merry making. Elderly men and women also feel thrills in their hearts. They enjoy gossiping and story-telling till the late hours of night. Birds and beasts also feel delighted and roam about a large for prey. Boats moving on the rivers with white sails present a very charming view. A moonlit night in the autumn is much more enjoyable. Thus a moonlit night is really a thing of beauty and a joy for ever.

DEFORESTATION

Generally cutting down trees extensively to fulfill the basic needs of fuel and housing and thus destroying the ecological balance is called deforestation. It’s natural that human being needs houses, furniture, firewood etc. For this, man uses wood. Wood is also used in big industries. Man makes shops, educational institution, boats, launches, trucks and other vehicles that lead many people to cut down trees. It causes threats to our environment. There are also many people engaged in cutting down trees from the forests making vast areas almost bare and leaving many wild animals in danger. All these have multifarious effects on the environment. Floods and droughts, cyclones and tornadoes are the common phenomena in a region or in a country where deforestation is going on. In our country less rainfall, excessive rainfall, bad harvest, soil erosion, extinction of wild animals, greenhouse effects are the problems prevailing due to deforestation. To prevent deforestation some pragmatic steps should be taken. A social movement should be launched to prevent deforestation. Social awareness can be raised regarding bad effects of deforestation. For this purpose, environment of science and study on ecology should be introduced from school level. Massive awareness regarding tree plantation can be raised through TV programmes. And above all, our forest department should enforce all codes of manner strictly at least to reduce deforestation. Besides them our government should apply hard rules to make the consciousness of the common people and we have to be conscious for saving our woods.

Water pollution

Water pollution is the contamination of water by filth, waste of other substances. Water is a very important element of environment. It saves all kinds of lives on earth. Clean water is healthful but pollution is one of the serious problems that humanity face. It can be polluted in many ways. Water is polluted by using chemical fertilizers and various insecticides into eland when they are washed away by rain of flood. Mills and factories throw their waste products into rivers and canals and thus pollute water. Again motor launches, steamers pollute water by throwing oil, food waste and human waste. Another aspect is pollution of underground water by arsenic. By drinking this polluted water, wry often get sick and many even die, so wry must prevent water pollution any cost. Water can be purified by boiling it and using purifying tablets. All concerned must be conscious to keep water free from pollution. Government should take comprehensive programme to check water pollution. Above all, for a healthier and a happier life, massive awareness must be created against warder pollution.

    A Rainy Day

A rainy day is a day when it rains continuously all day long during the rainy season. It is called a pouring day. The sky is overcast with thick of black clouds and the sun remains hidden behind them. The weather is foul. The sun is not seen. Sometimes, gusty wind blows with rain. Rivers, canals and tanks swell up. Roads and paths get muddy and slippery. Water stands here and there. Normal life is disrupted due to heavy rain. One does not generally come out without compulsion. The common people cannot attend their respective places in time. If anybody wants to go outside, he has to take an umbrella with him. The poor and the day laborers do not like a rainy day. They cannot go out to earn their living. Their suffering knows no bounds. They go on starving. A rainy day is most welcomed to the students, as they have no classes in the school. A rainy day brings joyous mood to the young boys of the same age and they are seen to bathe in rainwater with merriment. People pass the boy in listening to music, watching TV, reading novels. Those who have imaginary bent of mind enjoy the beauty of nature being drenched in rains. The cloudy sky lets loose their emotions. A rainy day has good effect on the soil. It helps plants to grow, flowers to bloom and nature looks fresh and beautiful. However, a rainy day is not pleasant to all.

Early rising

Early rising is the secret for a happy life. We all wish to live long but we cannot. Why? We go against Nature. Nature likes us to work during day and to rest at night. But we do not obey this law of Nature. We do not go to bed early. We read or write late into night. Some of us keep playing, dancing and drinking whole night. So, we do not rise early. What is the result?  Our health breaks down and we fall ill. Nature takes revenge. We have to suffer for our disobedience.
But birds and animals are healthy. They do not need a doctor every day. Why So? They sleep early and rise early. Early rising is the secret of health. But if you like to rise early, you must go to bed early. This simple habit will give everything. So, it is said:
“Early to bed and early to rise,  makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise.”
Early rising gives you health. But early rising alone is not enough. You must leave your bed and walk a little. This will give you fresh air. Fresh air is the queen of medicines and the beauty of Nature is the best of tonics. The music of birds and the smell and colour of flowers will give you the nicest kind of feast. Nature will give you what your soft bed cannot.
But health and wealth alone will not make you good and great. You need wisdom, too. How can your get knowledge and Wisdom? Early rising helps you much. Your body and mind are fresh in the morning. So your mind receives things very quickly. You understand clearly whatever you read. Early morning is the best time for study. It is an ideal time for the study of Nature, too. Nature is the best teacher and she teaches best early in the morning. Even an ordinary leaf will teach you great lessons. In the past, students had to rise very early. They moved about for some time, and then sat down for study.
This is why they became great scholars and thinkers. Who does not like to be a great thinker? But how many of us care to rise early? So, you must rise early if you like to rise high in life!

       A school magazine
A school magazine is a literary journal of the school students. It is usually published annually. Like others, we have a school magazine. The title of our magazine is “Deep Shikha’’. It’s a A4 size coloured annual magazine with extra ordinary designed cover. Its get up is very nice. At first, a magazine committee is formed in a general meeting for the publication of the magazine. The Headmaster of the school is the president of the committee. He inspires us to submit our writings. An English teacher is the adviser. The other members of the committee help him for the publication of the magazine. The magazine contains essays, articles, poems, feature, short stories, jokes, etc. both in English and Bengali. It also contains the message of the headmaster. Mainly students write for this magazine. Some teachers write also for it. All the students and the members of the committee do their best duties for the publication of the school magazine. It helps us  to know more about literature.

 A school library

A school without a library is unthinkable these days. It has books on various subjects, newspapers, journals and magazines. Students, especially who want to broaden their knowledge, go to the library in their vacant periods and study.
My school has an up-to-date library. It is quite big. It is housed in the separate room. There are nearly twenty five bookshelves. They are placed along the walls of the room. The shelves have glass pane. Besides text books, the almirahs have books on travels, biographies, history and geography.
On one side of the library hall there are long tables and benches. Students sit there and read newspapers, journals and magazines; some take down notes. Nobody is permitted to talk to disturb others.
The library also has reference and text books. These are meant for studying in the library only. The calm and quiet atmosphere of the library helps the students to work attentively.
The school librarian is a trained and qualified person and well-experienced. He gives advice to students on the choice of books. He is an expert in his work. He understands his duty well and is of great help to students. We find him busy all the time. He advises students not to spoil books by scribbling in them or tearing off the pages.
A librarian is the in charge of the school library. The library is always open on all the days of the week. The students get the books directly from the librarian. The books are well graded. The students find no difficulty in the selection of the books. The students read the books during the week. They return them the following week. Nobody is allowed to keep a book for more than two weeks.
The school library is a good way to develop general knowledge. The students beget studious habits. It creates a taste for book after school life. The library creates love for books among the weak boys. It gives opportunities to make best use of our leisure time. It gives us day-to-day information of the world.

Our National Flag

National flag is the symbol of independence of a nation. Every nation of the world has a national flag of its own. Bangladesh has also a national flag. The proportion of its length and breadth is 10:6. Our national flag is a piece of rectangular green cloth with a sound see disc like patch in the middle.
The radius of the see circle is one-fifth of the length of the flag. The green color represent the admiration of youthful vigor as well as the green fields and the ever green stablemate forest of Bangladesh. The circle symbolizes the rising run with new hopes and aspiration of a new nation.
The flag is hoisted everyday on top of our important government buildings and educational institutions. It is hoisted everywhere on the independence day and the victory day. Our national flag always inspire up to dedicate our lives for the greater interest of the country. So we are proud of it.

A day labourer

A day labourer is an unskilled person. He works in various fields. He works outdoor and usually employed in agricultural and constructional work. His work needs strength rather than skill. He works hard from dawn to dusk. He is generally paid at the end of the day. His income is very low and sometimes cannot earn even a reasonable wage. He usually lives in a slum and lives a sub-human life with his family. He goes out early in the morning to look for work. He works hard the whole day and buys food for his family. With his small earnings and returns home in the evening. Sometimes he and his family go without food if he cannot manage work. In harvesting season his work is in great demand and he can earn more. Then he can meet the bare necessaries of his life with his additional income. But in leisure period, when there is not much work for him, his conditions become worse. The life of a day labourer is full of sorrows and sufferings. He can hardly enjoy peace and happiness. In all weathers good and bad – he works hard all day long and earns his livelihood the sweat of his brow. Though the service of a day labourer is great importance, he is very much neglected. So pragmatic steps should be taken immediately to ensure jobs and shelter for this poorest of our population.
