Wonder of Modern Science
Science has changed the face of the world. It has also revolutionized the life of man. Man can now live a longer and more comfortable life because of the progress of science. Man has conquered Nature with the help of science. The wonders of Science have contributed to the comforts and pleasures of man. Man can be comfortable anywhere on the surface of the earth. Air- conditioning can keep him cool at the Equator. Central heating makes it possible for him to keep warm at the Poles. He has become independent of the climate. Labour- saving gadgets have lightened the burden of house work for the housewife. Science has also added to our pleasure. We can turn on the radio or TV and entertain ourselves at home. If we wish for outdoor entertainment we can go and see a film or do a variety of other things.
Electricity is one of the wonders of Science. Without it we would not have had electric lights, fans, refrigerators and all the labour-saving devices in the home. We also have wonderful means of travel. Cars and buses are very common. Electric trains carry us across the land with great speed. Jet planes go like a flash across the sky. In no time, we can be in another continent. Thus speedy travel is possible only on account of the wonders of science. Electricity also enables us to use elevators and escalators that save us the trouble of going up and down flights of stairs.
Science has also provided us with spectacles and contact lenses artificial limbs, fountain pens, type-writers and mechanical brains or computers, aren’t all these the wonders of science ?
It is a wonder that science has conquered deadly diseases, made man healthier and lengthened the span of human life. There is now a cure for practically every fatal disease that used to take a heavy toll of human life in the past. Not only this still more wonderful is the fact that worn out organs like the human heart and kidneys can be replaced by transplants.
With the help of science, man has even reached the moon. Soon he will be visiting other planets too. There is no limit to the wonders of science. Scientists are coming out with new inventions and wonders every now and then.
The atom bomb and nuclear weapons are also wonders of science. As these can cause much destruction, it would be better for men to make constructive use of the wonders of science.
Computer
A computer is an electronic device. It is one of the gifts of modern science. A computer can take input from the user and process this input data and if need. It follows the instructions unit in which we input. It takes input through keyboard, mouse etc and then it process the input data and give output on display screen and store data if need.Computer was not invented overnight. It took long time and hard labor to invent computer. A British professor named Charles Babeg invented this machine.
There are three parts in a computer. They are 1. central processing unit 2. Input 3. and output. The central processing unit is the brain of the computer. The input part receives signals and output part gives the result.
Computers are of two kinds- the analogue and the digital. An analogue computer can solve the different problems of mathematics within a short time. A digital computer can do varieties of thing. Now a days a computer means a digital computer.
We use it in every sphere of our life. Now people can get access to many libraries, books, journals and various kinds of information in a minute through a computer. We can not suffer from any communication gap or loneliness, if we have a computer. We use internet through computers for sending mails, keep in touch with friends and family members through various kinds of blogs and social sites such as twitter or Facebook Thus computer is very important in the present world. Rather, it is a need like a pen or pencil for a student in a school or classroom.
It has lessened our work loads, saved time and energy. It has made our life easy and comfortable. It is a part and parcel of our life.
Unemployment problem in Banglades
Introduction: Unemployment means the state of being without any work both for the educated and the uneducated for earning one’s livehood. This problem has become a great concern all over the world. But nowhere in the world this problem is so acute as in Bangladesh.Thousands of people in our country are without any job.At present the toughest task for any young man is to manage a job.It is tedious and sometimes humiliating.A person has to run year after year from office to office to find out a job.Hundreds of candidates swarm over a single post. The bad effect of unemployment is not only confined to the economic field but also destroys the sense of moral valus for want of employment. Many young people become frustrated. They have to lead a vagabond life. They have to idle away their time.Life becomes a curse and burden to them. When there is no dim ray of hope, they resort to commit different types of crimes like hijacking, plundering, robbery, murder, terrorism, drug addicting etc.
Causes of unemployment: There are many reasons behind unemployment problem.
Population growth: Our country is over populated. The rapid growth of population is the main reason of unemployment problem.Job facilities are very small in proportion to the growth of propagation. And this increasing number of population outpaces all development of the country.
Industrial backwardness: Our county is industrially very much backward. In fact the development in this field is very slow.Cottage industries have almost decayed. The few mills, factories and industries that we have can only absorb a limited number of people.
Limited cultivable land: Most of the people of our country depend on agriculture. But our cultivable land is very limited. So,it can not engage a huge number of people. Moreover, this profession is seasonal. So,the farmers have to sit idle for a few months a year.
Faulty education system: Our present system of education in stead of giving any solution, creates educated unemployed youngmen. In out educational system there is no much scope of giving vocational training and technical education to a student. So after taking the highest degree even from the gighest seat of learning, they remain unemployment.
Attitude of our educated young men: Our educated youngmen generally think it to be disgraceful to do any manual work. They prefer service to any kind of business. This false sense of dignity and prestige is one of the reasons of their being unemployment.
Solution: In order to eradicate this problem we have to mobilize all our energies to this great purpose without wasting time. The most essential measure is the industrialization of our country.A large number of mills, factories and industries should be set up where many of our unemployed youths will get the opportunity to work.
A great change should be brought our education system.More importance should be given on professional, vocational and technical education. This will make an opening to work in different industrial sectors both home and abroad.
The educated youth should change their attitude to life. They must learn to choose independent career. They can work in agriculture field, cultivate fish, grow vegetables. They can start small business. In fact self employment is a possible solution to this great problem.
Steps should be taken to set up co-operative farming, cottage industries and open new system of public work in the rural areas to create job for the village people.
Bangladesh earns a handsome amount of foreign currencies by exporting manpower. This has solved this problem to a little extent. If proper measure is taken, their number can easily be increased. But no attempt will bear any fruit unless effective measures are taken to keep the population growth under control.
Conclusion: Unemployment is a great curse to a nation. We can not expect the development of our country leaving its millions of people unemployed to survive as a boastful nation. We should make all out efforts to get rid of this curse.
Population Problem of Bangladesh
Population is an unbearable burden for Bangladesh. Bangladesh happens to be the most densely populated country in the world. In an area as small as 555981 square miles, Bangladesh has a population of over 130 million. About 1500-1600 people live in one square mile. Every year more than two million people are being added to our population. The problem is now out of control. It has reached the position of explosion.Although the population of a country is an asset, it becomes a problem when the country cannot afford to provide its people with the basic necessaries of life.
The area of Bangladesh is too small to support its vast population. As a result over-population creates a lot of critical problems involving communication, education, employment, housing, health, medical treatment, environment etc. All these problems eventually lead to a general problem named poverty. Hence, it could be safely said that the poverty of our country is largely an aftermath of its population problem.
We all should come forward to control it. The government of Bangladesh has already taken a number of steps regarding the issue. In order to overcome this problem, we may follow the following rules. Each family must not have more than two children. Then each family will be planned. Each family should be made aware of the gravity of the problem.
To check the growth of population, highest importance should be attached to education of the masses. If the entire population is educated, a sense of national awareness is sure to develop among the people.
We can send more of manpower to foreign countries. It would serve two purposes: first it would lessen the huge weight of the population; second it would help the country earn more foreign currency.
Although population is considered one of the greatest problems of Bangladesh, it cannot be solved by the government alone. All the people have to be firmly committed to birth control and grow more food at the same time. No improvement is possible unless this problem is solved. We, therefore, place significant emphasis upon the solution to this problem afflicting the whole nation.
Value of Time
Human life is very short. But they have many things to do. Time flies on quickly like an arrow. So it is said that time and tide wait for none. In fact the importance of time cannot be valued in money. Human life is short, but he has to do much and go a long way within this short span of life.Life is nothing but the sum-total of moments. Every moment is very precious. Success in life depends on the best use of time. We do not generally use time properly. So we cannot reach the pinnacle of success. We must remember that success in life largely depends on the proper use of time. Time once lost can never be regained. If time goes away, it never returns. So we must make the best use of our time. We must not put off any work for tomorrow. Our work will never be done if we don’t do it timely. A man who does his work in time is crowned with success. Idle brain is the devil’s workshop. Idle persons who kill time in vain are a burden on society. They lead an unhappy life and suffer in the long run.
Everyone should use time in a proper way to succeed in life. To waste time is a crime. Those who waste time and indulge in idleness cannot succeed in life. An idle man sits idle instead of doing anything useful. He cannot earn even his livelihood. He passes his days in want and depends on others like a parasite. He is a burden for society and everybody hates him.
Wasting time is a sin. If time is wasted it will be the cause of our misery and ruin.
There should be time for reading, for office work, for physical exercise, for recreation and for prayer. This means we should do everything when it is time to do. Time is more valuable than health and wealth. We can get back lost health and lost wealth but we cannot get back the lost time. The value of time can be realized only when it is properly utilized.
We are the supreme creation of Allah. So we have to carry on a mission and should do things timely to reach our goals. The most prosperous nations are those who don’t waste any time. We should take lessons from them both for ourselves and for our nation.

Discipline is strictly maintained in games and sports. A player has to obey the decisions of the referee or umpire and the captain of the team. A disciplined team always wins over an undisciplined team.
In every house there is a sort of government. All the members obey and respect the head of the family. And the head leads the family in a disciplined way. A disciplined family leads a healthier and happier life.
